Overview
The boys and girls have separate coaching at squad level. These are our elite junior county squads, with the girls all playing in one county girls' team and the boys structure consisting of one age group of Under 14s, and two other groups made up of mixed ages that create a Group A and Elite squad group. These elite junior players are identified from the county development coaching programmes that make up our talent pathway.
The development sessions are predominately for the lower handicap boys or girls who have active handicaps at club level. These sessions are run all around the four Devon regions by various county coaches.
These county coaches then make recommendations to the DevonGolf team managers where talented juniors can be advanced to the county elite squads.
The development programmes are for both boys and girls.
All juniors are encouraged to enter all competitions at their own golf clubs, as well as a busy programme of matches and competitions run by DevonGolf.
There is a Team Manager for each team and the Manager is responsible for team selection:

The Boys' Scratch Order of Merit points are worked out in the four age groups, U12s (handicap only) U14s, 16s and 18s with the top 5 gross scorers (top 5 nett in U12 category) in each age group receiving points as follows; 10, 8, 6, 4, down to 2 points for 5th place.
