WOMENS INTER-CLUB UPDATE (May 2025)
SHEELAH CREASY BOWL
A quick reminder of how the format works – three singles matchplay games, players go out in ascending handicap order of play (lowest handicap player first). Greensomes matchplay games follow, pairs out in ascending handicap order of play (lowest combined playing handicap pair first).
In singles matchplay the handicap allowance is 100%, strokes received are the full handicap difference taken from the lower handicap player.
In greensomes the handicap allowance is 60% of the lowest course handicap combines with 40% of the highest course handicap. For greensomes matchplay the difference between the calculated allowances of each pair determines how many shots are given. DevonGolf is using the rounded course handicap for the greensomes calculation.
(See DevonGolf website for sample result sheet)
DORIS WILLES-LITTLE FOURSOMES
Each pair’s combined course handicaps are calculated.
50% of the difference between the two teams’ calculated course handicap determines how many shots are given (rounded up if necessary).
MATCH MEALS (for Sheelah Creasy, Presidents & Still Cup matches)
Please remember the importance of partaking in match meals as they are an important source of revenue for the host club (as there are no green fees involved). Match meals can be full meals or lighter refreshments taken before or after the game.
We suggest Team Captains discuss catering with each other to find the right choice in terms of type of food, timings and costs for both teams. Clubs can charge visiting teams for match meals for players even if they do not partake (ie min 7 meals charged per team).
CADDIES
Caddies are allowed in all the inter-club competitions, please see Captain’s Advisory Notes (under Women’s Interclub ‘Links +’ on the DevonGolf website) for information as to the role of a caddie. As a matter of courtesy please inform your opposition if you are bringing caddies with you.
