The Girls' County Champion of Champions event was held at Woodhall Spa on the Bracken course on Saturday, 9th September over 36 holes. Our Devon Girls' County Champion Belle Tarr, who is only 14, was there to represent both her club Churston and Devon.
Belle was one of, if not the youngest, competitor in the field and played consistently over the two rounds with 87 scored in both rounds 1 and 2. A total of 174 meant Belle finished in 22nd place, but at such a young age we suspect this will not be her last visit competing in this event.
The Senior Women's County Champion of Champions event was also held at the same venue and course, however the 36-hole event was over two days. Vicky Holloway (DevonGolf Women's Team Manager) represented her home club of Torquay and Devon following her county success in the qualifier.
Vicky has been in fine form this year throughout the county season winning a number of major trophies and prizes. It was no surprise to see her put on a fine display at Woodhall Spa as part of a very talented field of competitors. Vicky had rounds of 87 and 90 respectively to finish on a total of 177, finishing a solid 16th in this year's championship.
DevonGolf are very proud of our county players and, in this case, Belle and Vicky. We wish them well for the remaining season and a successful 2024. Who knows, they may be back again to have another crack at the County Champion of Champions again.
